
In a significant move to transform how Pakistani youth engage with science and technology, the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication (MoITT) and the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, in collaboration with TikTok, have officially launched a dedicated STEM feed across the platform for Pakistani users. This collaboration aims to make science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) content more accessible, localized, and engaging through short-form video.
A Game-Changer in Digital Education
The newly launched #STEMTok feed is a standalone in-app space that curates high-quality, interactive, and educational content for Pakistani audiences. It features content in English, Urdu, and regional languages, tailored for students, educators, and early-career professionals eager to explore STEM fields in fun and creative ways.
This initiative aligns with Pakistan’s broader push to digitize education, especially in underprivileged and remote areas where traditional STEM education resources are limited. With the growing penetration of mobile internet and over 31 million TikTok users in Pakistan (as of 2025), the platform offers a massive opportunity to democratize learning.
Training the Teachers, Empowering the Creators
Beyond just content curation, TikTok has launched a nationwide teacher-training program in partnership with leading universities and ed-tech hubs. These workshops focus on equipping educators with skills to convert textbook concepts into snackable, visual content using TikTok’s creator tools. The goal is to bridge the gap between classroom learning and digital expression.
Simultaneously, TikTok is investing in the local STEM creator community, helping independent content creators and STEM professionals improve their video production, fact-checking, and curriculum alignment. By doing so, TikTok aims to build a self-sustaining ecosystem where educators and creators together make STEM education both fun and credible.
#STEMTok Hashtag & Localized Access
To help users easily find and engage with relevant content, TikTok has launched a custom landing page and the hashtag #STEMTok. This acts as a centralized hub featuring content from partner educators, creators, and academic publishers—covering topics from physics experiments and AI tutorials to robotics, climate change, and mathematical hacks.
This feed is expected to evolve based on user interaction, algorithmic improvements, and feedback from educators and government stakeholders.

Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Federal Minister of IT and Telecommunication, shared her optimism:
“Digital platforms are not just tools for entertainment—they are gateways to knowledge. With TikTok’s STEM feed, we’re tapping into a format that already resonates with millions of young Pakistanis, making STEM not just accessible but appealing. This is an investment in our human capital.”
Ms. Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Education, emphasized inclusion:
“This initiative is a turning point in Pakistan’s digital education journey. It empowers our youth, especially girls, by making complex STEM topics relatable and achievable. It’s a key step in building a tech-ready, future-proof generation.”

“With the STEM feed, we are combining TikTok’s global reach with Pakistan’s educational vision. Whether it’s machine learning or basic physics, we want to make knowledge bite-sized, enjoyable, and shareable.”

This effort is a key pillar of the government’s “Digital Pakistan” roadmap under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, which emphasizes innovation, youth development, and equitable education. Through digital platforms like TikTok, the state is now expanding education beyond traditional boundaries—right into the palms of young learners across Pakistan.
The TikTok STEM Feed is not only a step toward inclusive education but also a reflection of the changing dynamics of global learning, where platforms once seen purely for entertainment are now powerful tools of social impact.
