The Sindh Education Department has officially annulled the promotions that had advanced primary school teachers to high school teaching posts.
An official notification confirmed that the reversal came after a case in the Sindh High Court and subsequent instructions from the School Education and Literacy Department.
Teachers who were previously promoted have now been ordered to return to their original designations. The department has further instructed the recovery of additional salaries and allowances received under the higher scale. To ensure implementation, a formal letter has been dispatched to all District Education Officers (DEOs) in Karachi division.
Just a few months earlier, these teachers had been elevated to higher positions before the new directive was issued.
